Terran Strategy's

Terran strategy's

In every non money match up, there are a set of units you should use to receive optimum results, and throughout the game the units needed will slightly change.  I have spilt each strategy into Early game; Mid game, and Late game  These are listed below.

Terran vs Zerg (TvZ)

Early game: Marines and medics (M&M) ( 1 medic for every 6 marines, and get stim pack as soon as possible)

Midd game: M&M with science vessels (also get siege tanks here if the opponent is getting lurkers)

Late game: M&M with science vessel and tanks (By this time you should have researched irridate for science vessels and upgraded Infantry attack and amour)

Terran vs Protoss (TvP)

Early game: Vultures and Tanks (Vultures defiantly have researched mines and speed. Mines are vastly required in TvP

Midd game: Again Vultures and Tanks (and dropships to drop on cliffs etc)

Late Game: Vultures, Tanks, GOLIATHS, and maybe wriaths (goliaths and wraiths are inserted here because late game Protoss players tend to get carriers)

Terran vs Terran (TvT)

Early game: Tanks, and golaiths OR tanks and wriaths

Midd game: Same as the above and vultures with mines

Late game: Battle Cruisers OR Tanks goliaths and Wriaths

Now the build orders!

these build orders will only be for the very very early game.  the rest of the game's strategys will rely on how you get attacks, and how effective your attacks are

Vs Zerg

A very widely used strategy in TvZ is called 'BBS' (barracks barracks depot). This works very well for early production of marines. This strategy is showed below.

1: Get SCVs until you are on 8 supply

2: Then Get one barracks

3: when you ahve 50 minerals get another SCV

4: Next get another barracks

5: Now get a supply depot

6: Now get 2 more scvs and 6 marines

7: When you are on 16 supply get another supply depot.

8: Attack with your 6 marines

9: Get refinery

Then carry on as you want from here

The basic strategy used in TvZ is...

1: Get SCVs up to 9 supply

2: Get a supply depot

3: Get another SCV

4: Get 2 barracks and recon with SCV

5: Get 6 marines and attack

6: Get gas

7: Get 2 more SCVs

8: Get Academy

9: Assault with m&m

It is always best to rally point your units to the choke point of your base. As   shown. This is because only very few units can get to attack your units at the choke point at anyone time.

VS Protoss

Infantry units are quite useless in TvP.  Because of this you will need to get gas very early so you can get a factory early.

A good easy early strategy is listed below.

1: Get SCVs untill you are at 9 supply

2: Next get a supply depot at the entrance to your base.

3: Build Another SCV

4: Build a barracks next to the supply depot and scout.

5: Build another SCV

6: Get your refinery

7: Get another SCV

8: Build a factory

9: Build another factory

Attack how you want here

Shown below is how you should organise the entrance of your base.  This helps because the two marines can attack attacking zealots, but they can't be attacked by the zealots themselves.  If you want to move units in and out of your base just lift the barracks, it sometimes helps to hotkey this barracks.

VS Terran

Below I show a very effective dropping attack

1: Build SCVs until you get to 9 supply

2: Build a supply depot next to the minerals

3: When the supply depot is done get a barracks and scout.

4: Build another SCV

5: Get the refinery

6: Build 2 more SCVs

7: Put 3 SCVs on refinery, and build another SCV

8: Build another supply depot and a marine

9: Build a factory

10: Get another scv

11: Build an armoury

12: Build starport and attach control tower

13: Get 2 goliaths and a dropship

14: Get another SCV and supply depot if needed

15: Get 2 more goliaths or 1 goliath and one vulture

16: Drop the units at the enemies minerals

Below is shown where u should drop your units

General Terran Strategy's

- When using groups of tanks in offense , space them out.  Don't clump them all together, so  they can't all be taken out by a storm etc, and when zealots attack one of them, the others can attack it.
